Gym Prank Turns Tragic: Pune Man Hospitalized After Brutal Assault, Arrest Made
Sahakar Nagar, 10th December 2023: In a shocking incident at a gym in Sahakar Nagar, Pune, a young man was seriously injured after being mistakenly targeted in what was perceived as a prank.
The incident resulted in the arrest of the alleged assailant by the Sahakar Nagar police. The arrested individual has been identified as Rahul Deepak Tekwade, a 28-year-old resident of Dhankawadi.
The victim in this case is Pranav More, a 23-year-old resident of Katraj. Both Tekwade and More are acquainted with each other, sharing a common association with the gym where the incident occurred.
The unfortunate incident unfolded when Tekwade, mistakenly interpreting More’s actions as teasing, reacted impulsively. A heated argument ensued between the two within the confines of the gym, escalating to a point where Tekwade, fueled by misunderstanding, struck More on the head with a ten-kilogram iron plate.
The blow resulted in serious injuries to More, prompting the intervention of gym staff and fellow gym-goers. Tekwade, in addition to the physical assault, allegedly subjected More to verbal abuse and threats of harm.
Sahakar Nagar police swiftly responded to the incident, taking Tekwade into custody. Assistant Police Inspector Berad is leading the investigation into the matter. The arrested individual faces charges related to assault, verbal abuse, and threats.
