Guinness World Record Set in Pune’s ‘Ahimsa Run’ for Peace and Non-Violence
Pune, 3rd April 2023: Early on Sunday morning (2nd April), residents of Pune gathered to spread the message of peace and non-violence of Lord Mahavir and Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. The “Ahimsa Run” was organized by JITO Apex on behalf of the Pune Chapter, and approximately 6,000 citizens participated in the event with great enthusiasm. The marathon has been recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records, as the event was held simultaneously around the world.
The race began at Sir Parshurambhau College grounds, and it was divided into three sections. The first stage covered a distance of ten km, the second stage covered five km, and the third phase covered three km.
The race was flagged off by MLA Madhuri Misal and Adv SK Jain. Pilot Shivani Kalra, who safely brought students home from Ukraine, Arjuna awardee Tejaswini Sawant, and Sagar Balwadkar of SKP Campus Balewadi were present at the event.
