Warje, 3rd October 2024: A man has been arrested in Pune for raping his own minor daughter after showing her obscene videos. The girl found the courage to speak out during the ‘Good Touch Bad Touch’ initiative at her school. The victim, only 11 years old, has four sisters. According to the complaint, both the father and mother allegedly physically abused the victim.

In this regard, the headmistress of the victim’s school has filed a complaint with the Warje Malwadi Police Station. They have arrested her 35-year-old father and charged him under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including Section 64 (punishment for rape) and Section 65 (rape of a woman under 12 years of age), along with applicable sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act of 2012.

According to reports, the victim is a girl attending an English medium school in the Warje area. She has four sisters, and her mother does private work. On 30th September, the complainant, who works as a school principal, was approached by the school’s social worker regarding a case of a girl being raped by her father. Following this, the headmistress took the victim to the counseling room along with the social worker.

During this discussion, the victim revealed that she had been enduring forced sexual relations with her father for the past year, which caused her agonizing pain. She also described how her father had assaulted her brutally. When her mother would go to work, the father would tell the other sisters to go to their grandmother’s house or would give them money for food and send them outside.

After that, the father would watch obscene videos on the victim’s mother’s mobile phone and recreate those horrific scenes with the victim. At night, when everyone was asleep, the accused father would wake his daughter and take her to the terrace to assault her. The girl shared all this with her headmistress. She also mentioned that when she was in the fifth standard, her mother had gone to their native village for a few days, during which her father raped her and repeatedly beat her.

After that, the parents of the girl were summoned to the school for questioning. When the school authorities checked the mother’s mobile phone, they found obscene videos on it. The teachers then asked the mother why they had beaten their daughter. She replied that the girl doesn’t listen, spends the whole night on her phone, and that they had beaten her sometimes in order to discipline her and ensure she listens to them. At that time, the headmistress kept the girl’s mobile phone for further investigation, under the impression that children should not be beaten.

Approximately 15 minutes later, the accused father of the victim arrived at the school. During a short break, he called the girl out of class and threatened her, saying that whatever happens between them should not be told to anyone, or else he would beat her again when she came home. The victim then went and told the social worker about this threat. The school immediately contacted the police and informed them of the situation.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 3) Sambhaji Kadam stated, “As soon as the complaint was received, the police registered a case and arrested the girl’s father. He was produced in court and remanded to four days of police custody.”
