Gift Nifty Achieves Record-Breaking Single Day Turnover of US $16.76 Billion and Open Interest of US $13.51 Billion on November 28, 2023
Mumbai, 29th November 2023: On November 28, 2023, Gift Nifty, a key player in the Indian equity market’s growth narrative, reached unprecedented heights, setting a new benchmark for trading activities. The platform achieved an extraordinary single day trading activity with 4,27,925 contracts and a turnover of US $16.76 billion (equivalent to INR 1,39,766 Crores).
Additionally, Gift Nifty established a record-breaking single day open interest of 3,40,264 contracts, valued at US $13.51 billion (equivalent to INR 1,12,626 Crores) on the same date. This remarkable accomplishment not only exceeded its previous single day trading turnover record of US $15.25 billion on September 26, 2023, but also surpassed its highest open interest of US $12.75 billion recorded on November 27, 2023. This dual milestone marks a significant moment in the evolution of Gift Nifty contracts.
The exponential growth in trading turnover on NSE IX has been evident since the full-scale operation commencement of GIFT Nifty on July 3, 2023. Since that milestone, Gift Nifty has witnessed a cumulative volume of over 7.87 million contracts, with a total cumulative turnover exceeding US $304.07 billion.
