Wakad, 8th December 2023: Wakad police in Pimpri-Chinchwad have arretsed criminals involved in a series of house burglaries in Mumbai. The arrest follows a complaint filed by Amey Vijay Birje, a resident of Pimpri-Chinchwad.

The accused, identified as Abdul alias Chira Indris Shaikh and Dharmesh Ramacharya Diwakar, targeted Birje’s house, making off with gold valuables instead of the anticipated cash.

The burglary occurred during Diwali, where the criminals entered Birje’s residence, breaking locks to steal gold ornaments valued at one lakh twenty-two thousand rupees.

Investigations have revealed that Abdul alias Chira Indris Shaikh and Dharmesh Ram Acharya Diwakar are allegedly responsible for a total of 25 burglaries across Mumbai, Palghar, and Thane areas. Their arrest by the Wakad police was facilitated through CCTV footage.

It has been uncovered that the accused harbored a misconception, believing that their activities in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad would go unrecognized, allowing them to return to Mumbai undetected after committing the burglaries. However, the Wakad police, utilizing surveillance technology, successfully identified and arrested the criminals, putting an end to their crime spree.
