From Kashmir to Kanyakumari: Indian Army’s NATEX K2K 2023 Soars Across the Skies

Pune, 6th December 2023: The Indian Army Microlight Flying Expedition ‘NATEX K2K 2023’ was ‘Flagged Off’ by the Army Commander of the Northern Command on November 28, 2023.

This expedition has been organized under the aegis of the Army Adventure Wing to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of Kargil Vijay Diwas and the Centenary of the Bombay Sappers War Memorial, honoring our brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the service of the nation. It also aims to instill the spirit of adventure in the Indian Army and the youth of the nation.

The expedition will involve long-distance cross-country formation flying with four Microlight Aircraft (two Fixed-Wing aircraft and two Powered Hang Gliders). Eleven officers, including three women officers, four JCOs, and 35 soldiers, are participating in this expedition. The team will conduct large-scale airshows at six locations en route, including Udhampur, Jammu, Pune, Goa, Kochi, and Ramnathpur.

Launchpad

The motto of the expedition is “पर्वत से सागर तिरंगा” (From the mountains to the seas, the tricolor). The team will proudly carry the National Flag along with the Indian Army Flag and other banners in the sky, spreading the spirit of adventure, courage, camaraderie, and teamwork from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.
