Fourth Victim Recovered in Lonavala Bhushi Dam Mishap, Search Continues for Missing Child

Lonavala, 1st July 2024: Yesterday, around 12:30 PM, five people were swept away from the famous Bhushi Dam in Lonavala. Initially, three bodies were found, all deceased. Authorities have now located the fourth person, swept away in the floods, with assistance from the Shivdurga Mitra Mandal Lonavala. Unfortunately, they were also found deceased.

According to Sunil Gaikwad, Chief of Shivdurga Mitra Mandal Lonavala, the recovery of the fourth body was reported recently. It is suspected that all five individuals had passed away. The names of the individuals swept away from Bhushi Dam are Shahista Ansari (36), Amima Ansari (13), Umera Ansari (8), Adnan Ansari (4), and Maria Sayyad (9). Earlier, the bodies of Shahista Ansari, Amima Ansari, and Umera Ansari were recovered.

The fourth body has been identified as Maria Sayyad. However, four-year-old Adnan Ansari is still missing.

Sunil Gaikwad of Shivdurga Mitra Mandal Lonavala informed Punekar News, “Today, we recovered one body from the group of five. We are still searching for four-year-old Adnan. Alongside the Lonavala Police and Lonavala Municipal Council, we are engaged in search operations to find him as soon as possible.”
