Four Women Rescued As Pune Police Busts Online Prostitution Racket

Pune, 2nd May 2023: A prostitution racket operating in the Pune station area was busted by the Social Security Cell of Crime Branch, resulting in the rescue of four women. They are from Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and West Bengal.

The department received confidential information about online prostitution racket in the area, where bookings were made at prominent hotels for the purpose. The accused allegedly sent photos of women online to attract customers.

A team led by Senior Police Inspector Bharat Jadhav took action by sending dummy customers to bust the racket on May 1.

Three accused, identified as Ravindra Kumar Yadav, Anand Kumar Yadav, and Abhishek Beniwal, were detained by the police. The police also seized items worth Rs 43,000, including mobile phones, condoms, and cash. An FIR has been registered against the accused at Bundagarden Police Station.

The action was taken under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime0 Ramnath Pokle and DCP (Crime) Amol Zende. The team included Inspector Jadhav, API Ashwini Patil, Aniket Pote, and police personnel Rajendra Kumawat, Baba Karpe, Ajay Rane, Tushar Bhiwarkar, Manisha Pukale, Imran Nadaf, Irfan Pathan, Amit Jamdade and Omkar Kumbhar.
