Four fresh faces to walk the Runway at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018

Mumbai, 20th December 2017: India’s most sought-after fashion platform, Lakmé Fashion Week, held the country’s biggest model hunt for the upcoming season of Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018 at The St. Regis, Mumbai today.
A panel of industry experts chose four winners after three competitive rounds to walk for the upcoming season. Chosen from over 100 aspiring models, Parul Shah, Muskaan Bisaria, Aradhana Buragohain, Amrita Ganesh enthralled the judges, paving their way to the ramp this Summer/Resort season.
The esteemed jury included experts from the Indian Fashion Industry such as Bollywood Actress – Esha Gupta; Fashion Designer – Nikhil Mehra of ‘Shantanu & Nikhil’; Fashion Choreographer and Show Director – Lubna Adams; Head of Fashion, IMG Reliance – Jaspreet Chandok; Head of Innovation, Lakmé – Purnima Lamba.
Esha Gupta, Actress said, “I am very glad to be here today. I remember the time when I had auditioned for Lakmé Fashion Week and it’s amazing to be on the other side judging the competition. Confidence is one of the most important requirements to be a winner at the auditions; it sets you apart from the crowd. Lakmé Fashion Week is a platform that gives upcoming talent the rare opportunity to work along with so many establish designers. I couldn’t have been happier to see all the contestants here today.”
Nikhil Mehra, Designer said, “The one thing that I absolutely loved about the event was how democratic it was. There was a time when auditions had a minimum height and weight requirement but that’s not the case anymore. I absolutely loved the confidence that these girls displayed, they truly are the leaders of tomorrow. Lakmé Fashion Week is a platform that has always offered something that is out of the box and provides an experience like no other.”
Purnima Lamba, Head of Innovation, Lakmé said, “The model auditions today had some lovely millennials. The diversity of the talent always excites us, and we look forward to seeing them debut on the LFW ramp”

Lakmé Fashion Week is credited with introducing some of the most successful faces in the Indian fashion industry including Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, and Yana Gupta to name a few. With the Model Auditions conducted today, Lakmé Fashion Week continues to stand true to its commitment of providing a foundation to new and emerging runway talent.
Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018 is scheduled to take place between 31st January to 4th February.
