Football: Kalyani School ride on Viraj heriocs, Nets 4 goals in singlehanded effort
Pune, 19th September 2024: Four-goal hero Viraj Chordia hogged limelight as he singlehandedly powered The Kalyani School to a 4-1 victory over JN Petit (Technical) H.S in the Loyola Football Cup 2024 at the Loyola H.S ground Pashan, here on Thursday.
Viraj (26′, 33′, 38′ and 39′) was a first-half hero in the Under-12 section after JN Petit led via a seventeenth minute goal by Siddhant Waghmare.
In the other encounter Adiraj Biranje (13′) strike was enough for JN Petit (Technical) H.S to subdue The Kalyani School 1-0.
In other matches, Vidya Bhavan suffered a shock defeat in the Under-14 section to Infant Jesus H.S. the all important goal was netted by Om Thakur (23′) which remained till the end.
In other matches, Vidya Bhavan garnered victory. First in the Under 12 section after beating Infant Jesus 3-1 and then in the Under-16 section downing the same opponent Infant Jesus 2-0.
The Kalyani School earned sucess in the Under-16 and Under- 14 sections.
