Fatal Crash on Mumbai-Bengaluru Highway: Woman En Route to Exam in Pune Killed

Warje, 20th June 2024: A tragic accident occurred this morning on the Katraj Dehu Road Bypass Section of the Mumbai-Bengaluru Highway, resulting in the death of a young woman who was on her way to an exam in Pune. Jayashree Vasant Jadhav, 24 years old and a resident of Washim, lost her life when the two-wheeler she was riding on, carrying her father and brother as well, collided with a Tempo Traveller.

 

The incident took place at 5:30 AM within the jurisdiction of Warje Malwadi Police Station. Eyewitnesses described the scene as horrific, with the road stained by the victim’s blood. Jayashree, seated in a triple-seat arrangement on the two-wheeler, was en route to Shivane for an exam for a Talathi post at a college.

 

According to the Warje Police, the two-wheeler hit a pit, causing the driver to lose control. Jayashree, seated at the back, fell onto the road and was fatally struck by a speeding tempo traveller approaching from behind. She succumbed to her injuries on the spot. Warje Malwadi Police are currently investigating the incident.
