Fatal Collision in Pune’s Lohegaon: Two-Wheeler Rider Killed in Ambulance Crash

Lohegaon, 15th July 2024: A two-wheeler rider was killed in a collision with an animal ambulance in Pune’s Lohegaon area. The investigation revealed that the ambulance driver was under the influence of alcohol, leading to his arrest by the Airport Police. The collision occurred on Forest Park Road in Lohegaon.

The deceased, identified as Surendra Singh Shailendra Singh Kumpawat, aged 48, was a resident of Chandan Nagar. The driver of the animal ambulance, Sanjay Channappa Mulloli, aged 26 and a resident of Wadebolai, Nagar Road, was arrested after it was discovered that he had consumed alcohol. Surendra Singh’s younger brother, Mahendra Singh, aged 43, filed a complaint at the Airport Police Station.

Surendra Singh was crossing the road on his two-wheeler around 8 PM on Saturday, 13th July, when he was struck by the speeding ambulance. He sustained serious injuries and later succumbed to them. Police Inspector (Crime) Sarjerao Kumbhar visited the scene upon receiving the accident report. The accused, Mulloli, was detained, and investigations confirmed his intoxication. Police Sub-Inspector Bhosale is investigating the matter further.
