New Delhi, 17th February 2024: The farmers’ protest in Punjab has entered its fifth consecutive day. On Saturday, the United Kisan Morcha organized a demonstration at the toll plaza situated on the Delhi-Fazilka National Highway in Mahuana at 10 am, highlighting their grievances. Additionally, the toll plaza in village Vading on the Muktsar-Kotkapura road has already been shut down by the protesting farmers. The protest is slated to continue until 6 pm on Sunday.

Today marks the fifth day of the farmers’ strike in Punjab, as part of their ongoing Delhi Chalo movement against the Central government. Despite three rounds of meetings held in Chandigarh, the Union Minister has yet to address the farmers’ demands, leading to the persistence of the strike.

The toll plaza demonstration on Saturday resulted in all vehicles passing through without payment slips, inflicting significant financial losses estimated in lakhs of rupees on the toll company.
