Expressway Jam: Mumbai to Pune Lane Heavily Congested for Ganesh Utsav Travel
Mumbai/Pune, 6th September 2024: The large number of people travelling to their villages for Ganesh Utsav has led to significant traffic congestion on many roads, including a severe jam on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway. The traffic is particularly heavy on the lane coming from Mumbai towards Pune. People travelling from Mumbai and surrounding areas to their hometowns for the festival are experiencing major delays.
The two consecutive days of holidays and Ganesh Utsav have resulted in a high volume of travellers, putting considerable strain on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway.
Borghat Police are attempting to alleviate the congestion by directing traffic in both directions on the expressway. Long queues of vehicles have formed, causing significant distress for citizens. Those who left in the morning are still caught in the massive traffic jam.
