Entrepreneurs Organization hosts Ekta Kapoor for their learning event
Entrepreneurs Organization hosted Ekta Kapoor, the famous Movie and TV serials producer at Conrad, Pune. Ekta Kapoor spoke to the EO Pune members about her journey as a woman entrepreneur and her success in the Indian media industry. She shared the ups and downs of her entrepreneul journey with the members of EO Pune.
Ekta Kapoor was very excited speaking about her upcoming movie “Lipstick under my burkha” and what made her pick such a movie with a strong social message. She arrived at the conference with actors from the film, Aahana Kumra and Plabita Borthakur. Ever since she got on board as the presenter and pan-India distributor of this controversial film, she has left no stone unturned to promote the film. Lipstick Under My Burkha fought a long battle to get certification by the censor board. Prakash Jha, the producer of the film acknowledges that only Ekta Kapoor could take this film to a different level.
Directed by Alankrita Srivastava, the film, featuring Konkana Sen Sharma, Ratna Pathak Shah, Aahana Kumra and Plabita Borthakur, revolves around four women who try to steal a piece of freedom from within the confines of their daily lives. The film is schedule to release on July 21st.
Ekta Kapoor is completely calm and composed by the negativity which the film has received. ”If I always did what everyone told me, I would never do half the things I did. May be the film will work, may be it won’t. But we all live for the may be. I live for the ‘ifs’. If there is anything I really want, it’s this: the film to work,” she said. Ekta Kapoor has never gone out promoting any of her films. She has taken a very keen interest in promoting this film that isn’t even hers. She mentions that after a long time, she came across a movie that was bold and questioning, yet had the entertainment element in it.
