England Break Their Own Record of the Highest Score in ODI Cricket; Scored Three Big Centuries During the Innings

Pune, 18th June 2022: The England cricket team has made an international record for the largest score in men’s team in ODI cricket.

During the match played against the Netherlands, England broke the old record score of 481 runs previously set by them. Batting first against Netherlands on Friday, the team scored a total of 498 runs for the loss of four wickets in 50 overs. It was a massive innings with three batsman scoring centuries.

 

Phil Salt played a memorable innings in the first match that laid the foundation for England’s record. Salt played an innings of 122 runs off 93 balls, hitting 14 fours and theee sixes. At the other end, David Malan also completed his century. Malan played 109 balls and scored 125 runs, hitting nine fours and three sixes. Joss Butler played 70 balls and scored 162 runs. During the innings, Butler hit 14 sixes and seven fours.

 

In 2018, the team scored 481 runs for six wickets against Australia in Nottingham creating a record of the highest runs scored in ODIs.

Now the team has surpassed its own old record by scoring a huge score of 498 against the Netherlands. The third highest total was also set by the England team. In 2016, the team scored 444 runs for three wickets against Pakistan.
