Pune, 11th July 2023: On Saturday (8th July) at 7.07 am, a technical fault occurred in the 400 kV high voltage power line from Talegaon to Shikrapur in Pune district. However, Powergrid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) clarified on Monday that the ownership, maintenance, and repair responsibility for this high-pressure power line lies with Adani Company, not PGCIL, stated MSEDCL in a press release.

According to MSEDCL, Powergrid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) operates a 400/220 kV Extra High Voltage Substation in Talegaon. The failure of the 400 kV high-pressure line connecting this substation to the ultra high-pressure substation at Shikrapur led to a disruption in electricity supply to customers in areas such as Pimpri Chinchwad, Shikrapur, Urse, Theur, Perne, and others on Saturday. As the electricity demand decreased due to rainfall, power supply was gradually restored from 10 am to 12.45 pm through load management.

PGCIL has clarified that the technical failure in the Talegaon-Shikrapur 400 kV power line is not under their jurisdiction. The responsibility for the ownership, maintenance, and repair of this line lies with Adani Company.
