Eknath Shinde Highlights Progress: ‘Expert Consultants Engaged for Pune’s Development

Mumbai, 9th July 2024: In today’s monsoon session of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath informed that, Out of the total length of 128.08 km of 65 m wide Ring Road from Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), 40 km has been transferred to Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) for development. Shinde also said that the work of preparing the detailed project report and land acquisition proposal for the Ring Road of PMRDA is in progress.

Chief Minister Shinde gave this information while replying to a question asked by the people’s representatives in the legislative session. He said, “It is partly true that even though PMRDA has completed eight years, projects like metro, ring road, and TP scheme are yet to be completed. Six TP schemes implemented by PMRDA are in progress. Also, the work of the Maan-Hinjawadi to Shivajinagar metro line is in progress and currently, 38.92% of the work has been completed. For Mhalunge-Maan TP Scheme No.1 on 18th May 2018, the project has been sanctioned with funds of Rs.616.90 crore as per administrative approval. In the fiscal year 2023-24, a fund of Rs.275 crore has been made available for TP Scheme No. 1 to 6. Experienced technical, and non-technical officers are made available on deputation as per the approved scheme of PMARDA. Expert, experienced consultants have been appointed for the projects required to speed up the development works. Also, GIS-based technology is being used and a separate room has been established for it.”
