Don’t Get Involved In Land Dispute Settlement, Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissioner Warns Cops

Pimpri, October 22, 2020: There have been a rising number of cases registered with the police stations in Pimpri Chinchwad commissionerate of land grabbing and illegal possession of lands. Interestingly, it has been observed that the police too take interest in solving such cases.

Taking cognizance of it, the Police Commissioner Krishna Prakash has directed the police to resolve the cases according to the prescribed laws.

As many as 15 police stations receive most applications from the residents regarding the ownership of land, possession of the land or illegal possession. These complaints are received from areas like Mhalunge, Talegaon Dabhade, Dehuroad, Wakad, Hinjawadi, Chakan, Alandi, Bhosari MIDC among others.

It was seen that the interference by the police in such matters resulting in changes in registering cases like criminal into civil and civil into the criminal. The Police Commissioner received three to four such complaints every day.

There have been whispers that many policemen brought the letter of recommendations from politicians to get transferred to Pimpri Chinchwad police commissionerate, but the police commissioner has handled them very well.

The Commissioner has directed the police inspectors and Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) not file cases related to land disputes on their own. The inspectors have to send the complaint report to the Zonal Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) through the Divisional ACPs for opinion. The DCP has to decide the land dispute complaint.
