Disruption in Mumbai-Pune Rail Services as Central Railway Announces Cancellations and Diversions

Mumbai/Pune, 24th November 2023: Central Railway has revealed that essential pre-non-interlocking and non-interlocking work, along with military yard interlocking and automatic signalling work, will be undertaken between Khadki and Shivajinagar on the Lonavala line. This scheduled maintenance is set to occur from November 22, 2023, to November 26, 2023.

In response to these critical works, several Mail-Express trains plying the Mumbai-Pune route will be cancelled, while others will be diverted onto alternative routes.

On November 25, 2023, notable cancellations included Train No. 12123 Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT)-Pune Deccan Queen Express and CSMT-Pune Sinhagad Express. Subsequently, on December 26, 2023, CSMT-Pune Intercity Express, CSMT-Pune Deccan Express, and CSMT-Kolhapur Koyna Express will also face cancellations.

Additionally, passengers are advised to anticipate delays for certain trains. On Saturday, Train No. 11302 Bangalore – CSMT Udyan Express will experience a delay of 2 hours and 40 minutes on the Solapur section. Train No. 16506 Bangalore-Gandhidham Express will be delayed by an hour on the Pune-Satara section. On Sunday, train number 22159 CSMT-Chennai Express is expected to be delayed by 2.5 hours on the Mumbai section.

Travelers are urged to plan accordingly and stay informed about the revised schedules and diversions during the stipulated period of infrastructure maintenance.
