Dhol Tasha Lezim Brings Holi Joy to Boston’s Historic Downtown

Boston (USA), 24th March 2025: Across the globe, the spirit of Holi was joyously celebrated as the India Society of Worcester (ISW) brought a burst of color and culture to historic Faneuil Hall Marketplace in Boston, Massachusetts. For many Indians with family and friends in the US, this vibrant event echoed the traditional
celebrations back home.
The ISW Symphony kicked off the festivities with an exhilarating performance of Dhol & Tasha accompanied by Lezim. The energy of the performers and the cheering crowd reflected the same enthusiasm seen during Holi celebrations across Maharashtra. “We matched the energy level of a performance in India. It’s wonderful to see the next generation now interested and invested in this tradition,” said Akshay Rajhans, a member of the ISW Symphony.
The event also featured cultural dances from various Indian regions, showcasing the country’s rich heritage. “The Holi event was an absolute hit! The energy was incredible, and the performances had everyone completely captivated,” said participant Prasanna Pawar. ISW Symphony member Sonia Gera added, “Such a fun-filled Holi celebration. Blessed to be part of this team!” The lead Tasha player Arvind Kinhikar remarked, “Right from the beginning, we knew we were going to
rock! The energy was infectious, even inspiring a toddler to dance. It was a heartfelt celebration that truly brought Boston together.”
Nina Pellegrini from Faneuil Hall Marketplace management was equally enthusiastic. “The performance was incredible, and we’d love to host you for Diwali. Don’t hesitate to reach out if your group would like to return sooner,” she said, appreciating the cultural celebration.
As Holi concluded, attendees carried with them the vibrant spirit of the festival. The India Society of Worcester’s dedication to preserving and sharing Indian culture continues to strengthen connections across communities.
