Pune, 25th February 2024: A legal case has been filed at the police station against Pune city president Prashant Jagtap of the Nationalist Congress Sharadchandra Pawar Party. Nine others are also included in this case. The action has been initiated in response to defamatory slogans raised by officials and workers, including Prashant Jagtap, against Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. The case has been officially registered at the Shivajinagar police station.

This development comes after the Central Election Commission affirmed that the NCP party and its symbol are associated with Ajit Pawar. Female office bearers and party workers, along with Prashant Jagtap, assembled at the Nationalist Congress Party office near Dengale Bridge.

During the incident, individuals vandalized the cornerstone that was laid during the inauguration of the party office, and slogans were raised, objecting to Ajit Pawar’s association with the party. In response, Lavanya Shinde, the woman city president of the NCP (Ajit Pawar) party, filed a police complaint. The case has been registered under sections related to instigating conflict between two factions of the party, making provocative statements, and defamation.

Nine individuals, including Prashant Jagtap, are named in the case. The charges encompass actions that led to internal party strife, provocative language, and defamatory remarks. Notably, a significant number of women officials and activists are among those registered in the case. Assistant Police Inspector Savita Sapkale is assigned to investigate the

matter.
