DCM Ajit Pawar Orders To Increase Bed Capacity At Govt Hospitals In Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad Before March Next Year

Pune 13th Oct 2023: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Friday held a review meeting with the officials regarding the facilities at the government hospitals in the city and rural areas of Pune. He instructed the authorities to increase the bed capacity at the government hospitals in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation areas to ensure better health facilities to citizens.

Pawar also warned of strict action against negligence in providing treatment to the patients at the government hospitals. He also informed that the decision to provide additional funds for the healthcare facilities has been already taken at the state level and more funds will be allocated through the District Planning Committee if the need arises.

He stressed the importance of not compromising on the availability of medicines in all government hospitals. “Modern treatment facilities are already made available at Sassoon General Hospital and the common patients must be given benefits of it. If there is any negligence found in providing the modern treatment to the patients, strict action will be taken” he said.

Pawar urged to maintain cleanliness in the hospital premises. Efforts should be made to expedite the registration of Ayushman cards in urban areas and the district should strive to be the first in the state in this regard. In rural areas, medical officers should be present at health centers. He also asked the officials to fill the vacancies at the government hospitals for Grade-4 posts by external sources without any further delay.
