26 August, 2019: On the occasion of World Photography Day, the Dawoodi Bohra Women For Religious Freedom (DBWRF) launched a nationwide photography competition, for women from the community. The photography competition will center around the theme #NotWhatItSeems, and will invite entries that depict two sides to the same story.

The competition will run from August 19-September 2, 2019, and is the perfect chance for Dawoodi Bohra women to unleash their creative streak and showcase their talent. Winners also stand to win exciting prizes, including a GoPro.

Speaking about the launch of the photography competition, Ms. Samina Kanchwala, Secretary, DBWRF, said, “There are always two sides to every story, and not everything is what it seems to be at first glance. We want to highlight this, and we thought, what better way to do so, than through a photography competition? Dawoodi Bohra women are talented, analytical, and I’m sure will do justice to the topic.”

Entries can be submitted on social media, by uploading a picture to participants’ respective profiles, and tagging @dbwrf, as well as using the hashtags #NotWhatItSeems #DawoodiBohraWorldPhotographyDay.
