Custom Officials Seize Gold Worth Rs 33 Lakh Hidden In Rectum From Passenger At Pune Airport
Pune 13th Sept 2023: The custom officials at the Pune airport have seized gold worth Rs 33.33 lakh from a passenger on his arrival from Dubai on Monday. The passenger had concealed the gold in the capsules and they were hidden in the rectum, said officials.
“On profiling a passenger arriving from Dubai to Pune by SG 52 on 11.09.2023 was intercepted. On interrogation and enquiry recovered two capsules of gold paste concealed in rectum which on extraction led to seizure of 555.6 grams of 24k gold valued at Rs 33.93 lakhs.” custom officials said.
“Two persons who had come to receive and collect the gold were also apprehended outside the arrival gate at the airport. Further investigation is in progress” the officials added.
