Solapur/Pune, 22nd June 2021: Ashadhi Wari is not allowed with full strength this year as well. Moreover, Solapur Superintendent of Police Tejaswi Satpute has ordered a curfew in Pandharpur for Ashadi Wari from July 17 to 25.

Section 144 will be enforced in the Chandrabhaga area during this period and also in Solapur district will have a three-tier blockade during this period. Therefore, no devotee without permission will be allowed to enter the Solapur district during this period. Therefore, even this year, most devotees will not be able to take direct ‘darshan’ Ashadi Ekadashi.

The Maharashtra state government has already said that due to Corona this year, the palanquins (Palkhi) will be taken to Wakhri by bus. From there, as a symbolic gesture, the palanquins will be carried on foot to Pandharpur. Hence, from Wakhri to Pandharpur, only 1.5 km of Dindi will be allowed on foot and the eleventh day, 195 Maharaj Mandals in the city will get the darshan. A government order has been issued regarding this year’s Ashadi Wari.

Regarding the departure ceremonies of 10 palanquins, it has been said in the government order that for the departure ceremonies at Dehu and Alandi, 100 devotees with each and with remaining eight, 50 people can participate in the departure ceremonies. After reaching Wakhri by special vehicle from the place of departure of revered (Manache) Palkhi ceremonies, they will be allowed to walk 1.5 km to Pandharpur in symbolic manner.

This year, as it’s advised, all the palanquin ceremonies will arrive in Pandharpur on the tenth day and leave on the full moon day. The official Maha Puja, the meeting of saints with Vitthal will be done like last year. The darshan will be closed for devotees during the Ashadi Yatra, continuing the daily routine.

Also, instead of a chariot for the Ekadashi day chariot festival, 15 persons including 10 dignitaries and five employees of the temple committee will come in a separate vehicle. Social distance will be observed at this time. Forty people have been allowed to attend the ‘Manache’ Palkhi ceremony during the saint’s Paduka visit. In the two buses for Wari, the number of 40 Warakaris has been fixed at 20 each.
