PUNE- CREDAI Maharashtra has reacted to the recent ban put on all construction activities in Maharashtra along with other three states and UT, for faltering on the policy for solid waste management. The stay will be on till a distinct policy has been framed.

Reacting on the same Shantilal Kataria, President CREDAI Maharashtra said that, ”we are implementing SWM rules 2016 in a true spirit and as per our knowledge our state has a policy for the same which can be reflected from various published reports. We have always abided by rule of solid waste management”.

“We understand that the stay is for those states that do not have any policy framed. Hence, we are sure that Supreme Court order would not be applicable to us and state govt. will get it cleared very soon”, he added.

Solid waste management is a big challenge and it will become complex with time. It is spread at every surrounding. Social awareness, political will and
participation of every citizen are very important to manage the wastes created. CREDAI has always realized its responsibility and
has taken initiative to comply with this rule, said Kataria.
