Corona Vaccination Drive launched in Pimpri-Chinchwad city

Pimpri-Chinchwad, January 16, 2021: Covid-19 vaccination drive has started in Pimpri-Chinchwad today. 800 people from the medical field were vaccinated at eight centres throughout the day. Vaccination drive was started by the Additional Health Medical Officer of the Municipal Corporation Dr Pavan Salve by inoculating first.
Vaccination started at Jijamata Hospital in the presence of Mayor Usha Dhore and PCMC Commissioner Shravan Hardikar. Deputy Mayor Keshav Gholave, Leader of Opposition Raju Misal, Shiv Sena group leader Rahul Karate, MNS group leader Sachin Misal, Shiv Sena group leader Rahul Kalate, MNS group leader Sachin Chikhale, corporator Usha Where, Nikita Kadam, Assistant Health Medical Officer Dr Laxman Gofne, Senior Medical Officer Sangeet Tirumani, Dr Balasaheb Hodgar were also present at the event.
After vaccination, the person has to wait for 30 minutes under observation to check if he/she has any adverse side effect. The second dose will be given after 28 days.
Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has received 15,000 doses of the vaccine from the state government. In the first phase, people in the medical field will be vaccinated. Municipal Corporation and private hospital’s, 17,792 health workers names are registered with Municipal Corporation.
While giving information about vaccination, Assistant Medical Officer Dr Laxman Gofne said, “Vaccination has started today in eight municipal hospitals. 100 people will be vaccinated at each of the centres during the day. Municipal Corporation has made a list who will be vaccinated and they should be present at the site. After vaccinating people in the medical field, people working in the field of other essential services, citizens above 50 years of age, citizens with various serious illnesses will be vaccinated. After that everyone will be vaccinated”.
