Convert Housing Society Clubhouse Into Isolation Centre For COVID Patients: PCMC

Pimpri, 25 April 2021: Due to the growing number of Coronavirus disease (COVID19) patients, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) today issued an order to all the housing societies to convert their clubhouses into isolation centre for COVID positive patients.

 

In his order, PCMC Commissioner Rajesh Patil said, “The number of patients is increasing. Many people do not have adequate rooms for home isolation. Therefore, to prevent the infection to other members of the family and neighbours, the patients can be kept in the clubhouses. Therefore, housing societies should convert their clubhouses into COVID19 isolation centres for COVID patients.”

PCMC has also issued guidelines for the clubhouse isolation centres:

  • These centres are not for patients below 10 years, senior citizens, pregnant women, high risk patients with comorbidities. They should be admitted to COVID Care Centres
  • Only asymptomatic patients or those with mild symptoms should be kept there
  • Suspected and COVID Positive patients can’t be kept together
  • Beds should be kept at a distance of 3 feet from each other
  • Ensure that patients do not leave the clubhouse. Monitoring can be done through CCTV or security guard
  • Patients should be given food on disposable plates
  • PCMC medical officers should check-up twice a day
  • Patients should be shifted to COVID Care Centres if they have any of the following symptoms

         a) Difficulty breathing

         b) Respiratory rate> 24 / min

         c) Decreased oxygen levels in the body (SpO2 <95%)

         d) Persistent pain in the chest

         e) Mental confusion or unconsciousness

         f) Ambiguity in speech

         g) Weakness or numbness in the body or face

          h)Bluish lips / face
