Pune, 20th July 2024: The Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) started a WhatsApp helpline number to address complaints about autorickshaws, cabs, or private buses denying service or demanding inflated prices. However, instead of complaints, the helpline has received congratulatory messages. Out of 100 messages, only about 1 is a complaint, most of which concern autorickshaws.

In Pune, citizens frequently complain about autorickshaw drivers. Many autorickshaw drivers either reject short-distance destinations or demand exorbitant fares. Some drivers bypass the meter and charge inflated rates at their discretion. Similar complaints have been received about cab and private bus drivers. Previously, people were unsure how to file complaints, but now, with this WhatsApp helpline, it is easier for them to report these issues. The helpline number is 8275330101.

Complaints regarding traffic congestion, signal demands, parking, and other issues related to the Pune Traffic Branch are also being reported here. RTO officials are responding to these messages by directing complainants to the relevant authorities. Additionally, people from Mumbai and across Maharashtra are also using this number to file complaints.
