Co-operative sector on its last legs due to corruption – Deshmukh

Pune, October 27th: “The state of Maharashtra was flourishing with Co-Operative sector just a few years ago, however now it seems to be on its last legs due to corruption. To recover co-operation from this rale, we must forget all our differences and join forces to make it better” stated Subhash Deshmukh, Cabinet Minister in Maharashtra Government for Co-operation, Marketing and Textiles. He was speaking during a meeting held in the city for all the traders, entrepreneurs and professionals from all the industries. Deshmukh also mentioned that the State Government of Maharashtra is absolutely committed towards the upgradation of Co-Operative sector.

This meeting was organized by Jagdish Unecha and Vipin Nandurdikar with an effort to understand the problems and disputes faced by all the traders, entrepreneurs and professionals in the city. It was attended by the members of all the political parties in Pune, various business and co-operative associations, organizations along with businessmen from diversified industries. The queries, doubts and issues raised by the attendees during this meeting were answered uncomplicatedly by Subhash Deshmukh.

Speaking on the occasion, Deshmukh said, “I request you all to become one and strive towards the betterment of co-operative sector in the state. We must unite to diminish the bribery in Co-Operation. The state Government is pledged to exceed in co-operation and thus it will not only provide grants to move up in this sector but will also look after elevating the production.”

Rupee Bank issue has become very complicated by now but it will be resolved at any cost. Though this scam was huge, no one including the President, Director or Administrator will be spared while addressing this affair. Those who have been named in the corruption allegations can not stand for the Bank Elections for coming 10 years. The government is thinking of merger proposal only for the sake of depositors and their life savings. However as of now, there is no other bank which can accept this merger proposal. Nevertheless, we are committed for the revival of Rupee Co-Operative Bank, no matter how much time it may take.

In addition to this, Deshmukh mentioned that the reopening process of Yashwant Sahakari Sugar Mill is in its last stage and the mill is expected to be in an action in the coming year or two. He also mentioned that the employment rate will increase due to introduction of GST in the state.
