Lonavala, 31st July 2023: Tonight, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde conducted an inspection of the Adoshi Tunnel on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, which had been blocked by a landslide last week. During his journey to Pune for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit on August 1, the Chief Minister made a stop at the ghat and assessed the area prone to landslides.

On this 9 km stretch of the highway, Chief Minister Shinde stated that he had requested suggestions from IIT Bombay to prevent future landslides in the area, and they have already begun their work. Shinde expressed this during the inspection.

To secure the mountain area where the landslide occurred, the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation has installed a protective net. The Chief Minister also inquired about the measures taken to address a previous landslide near the Kamshet Tunnel.

At this juncture, the Chief Minister instructed the officials of the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation to demolish the hazardous part of the mountain and secure the area by installing a protective net.
