CM Eknath Shinde Orders Bulldozers on Illegal Constructions Related to Drugs in Pune

Mumbai, 24th June 2024: In a decisive move to combat the drug menace in Pune, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has directed Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar to take strict action against illegal constructions and pubs involved in drug-related activities. The Chief Minister emphasized the need to make Pune a drug-free city and issued clear instructions to deploy bulldozers to demolish unauthorized structures linked to drug trafficking.

During a meeting today, CM Shinde highlighted the increasing concerns about drug sales in Pune. He instructed Commissioner Kumar to intensify the crackdown on illegal pubs and drug dealers operating in the city. “Strict action should be taken against illegal pubs to make Pune city drug-free,” Shinde asserted.

The Chief Minister’s directive includes initiating bulldozer operations to demolish unauthorized constructions that facilitate drug-related activities.
CM Shinde further instructed that all necessary measures be taken to ensure the city’s transformation into a drug-free zone. “Strict action should be initiated against drug dealers and unauthorized constructions in this regard by deploying bulldozers,” he added.
