City F.C Pune, Sanghvi enter III-Division semifinals Eagles F.C, Durga F.A have it easy
Pune, 2nd September, 2024: City F.C Pune, Sanghvi F.C ‘A’, Eagles F.C and Durga F. A made it to the semifinals of the PDFA III Division Knock Outs with contrasting wins over their opponents at the Ganga Legends, Bavdhan.
Both City F.C Pune and Sanghvi F.C ‘A’ had to wait for the tie-breaker to decide their encounters against Vincent’s Old Boys Association (VOBA) and Mathew F.A respectively.
City F.C Pune and VOBA played out a 0-0 draw before City F.C posted a 4-3 win. Lalit Patil, Swapnil Mahamuni, Pritesh Babad and Rohit Rawat scored for the winners, while Aaron Robert, Joel Sunny and Faris Shaikh converted for VOBA.
Later, Sanghvi F.C ‘A downed Mathew F.A 3-2 in the tie breaker after a 0-0 draw at full-time.
Shanon Arland, Sachin Saliyan, Rohit Kamble netted for Sanghvi F.C, while Kaushik Verma and Zaid Ansari scored for the losers.
In other matches, Eagles F.C pipped Legends United through a Nokphpoa Konyal (41st) strike.
Durga F.A took the final slot downing Sai F.A 2-0 with strikes from Prabodh Bhosale (13th) and Prathamesh Tekade (59th).
