Pune, 29th November 2023: In anticipation of the forthcoming visit of the President of India to Pune scheduled from November 30 to December 1, 2023, the Pune Traffic Police have made significant modifications to the city’s traffic arrangements. These adjustments aim to ensure smooth transit during the presidential visit.

In Pune, the President will attend programs at the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Khadakwasla and Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) in Wanowrie.

On November 30, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and on December 1, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM, commuters traveling to and from Pune Airport are advised to utilize the Ramwadi to Airport Road via Pune Nagar Road. This rerouting is deemed necessary to accommodate the heightened security measures and logistical requirements associated with the President’s itinerary.

During both November 30 and December 1, the road segment from Lohegaon to Airport to Vishrantwadi will be completely restricted for goods vehicles. This closure is part of a broader initiative to ensure unimpeded movement in areas of strategic importance throughout the visit. Additionally, on the morning of December 1, 2023, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, vehicle movement will be restricted from Bhairobanala to Jedhe Chowk (Swargate) on Pune Solapur Road and from Bhairobanala to Pune Station. All goods vehicles will be prohibited from accessing these roads during the specified hours.

A noteworthy adjustment will be implemented on November 30, 2023, wherein the Pune University to Pashan Road, extending up to the Raigad Bungalow, typically designated as a one-way route, will be temporarily open for two-way traffic, exclusively for VVIP movement, between 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM.
