Check Traffic Diversion In Pune On Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Birth Aniversary On April 14

Pune, 13th April 2022: The Pune City Police has planned traffic changes in different parts of the city on Thursday (14th) on the occasion of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s birthday.

Traffic routes have been changed in Pune station, Campo area, Vishrantwadi, Savarkar Chowk, Dandekar bridge, Dattawadi areas. Therefore, people should use alternative routes, an appeal has been made by the transport branch.

A large number of citizens come to greet Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s statue opposite Sassoon Hospital, at Hotel Aurora Towers in Camp and at Vishrantwadi chowk. Therefore, in order to avoid congestion in these areas, the traffic branch has changed the routes for vehicles.

These are the alternative rooutes:

Juna Bazar Chowk:

• Traffic from Shahir Amar Sheikh Chowk (Juna Bazaar) to Maldhakka Chowk is closed. People should proceed from Shahir Amar Sheikh Chowk to RTO Chowk, Jahangir Chowk and proceed to their destination.

GPO:

• Traffic from GPO Chowk to Bolhai Chowk is closed, traffic from GPO Chowk to Bolhai / Maldhakka Chowk should go to desired place via Kirad Chowk, Nehru Memorial Chowk

Pune station:

• Traffic from Pune Station Chowk to Maldhakka Chowk closed
• Traffic from Narpatgiri Chowk to Maldhakka Chowk closed, drivers should proceed via Narpatgiri Chowk, 15th August Chowk, Kamla Nehru Hospital, Pavale Chowk, Kumbharves.
• Traffic from Banerjee Chowk to Amar Sheikh Chowk will be closed. From Banerjee Chowk to Power House Chowk, Narpatgiri Chowk, 15th August Chowk, Kamla Nehru Hospital, Pavale Chowk, Kumbharves.

 Hotel Aurora Towers, Camp

• Traffic from Koyaji Road to Pune Station has been stopped at Teen Tofa Chowk and diverted to SBI House.
• Traffic from ISKCON Temple Chowk to Dr Ambedkar Statue at Aurora Towers has been closed.
• Traffic from Nehru Chowk to Teen Tofa Chowk is being closed and this traffic has been diverted from Nehru Chowk to Kirad Chowk on the left.

Vishrantwadi : 

• Vehicles going to Tingrenagar, Pune Airport will turn at Mental Corner Chowk, turn left at Commerce Zone Chowk and proceed towards Airport.
• Vehicles going from Pune to Bopkhel, Dighi, Alandi, Bhosari should proceed via Shantinagar to Chavan Fish Market area and go to their destination via Alandi Road.
• Vehicles traveling from Kalas, Mhaske Wasti, Bopkhel, Dighi, Alandi to Pune should proceed through Shantinagar.

Dandekar Bridge (Sinhgad Road):

The scene of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s birth place at Mahu in Madhya Pradesh has been created at Dandekar bridge. Therefore, the Dattawadi Traffic Division has changed the routes. Accordingly, traffic from Savarkar Chowk to Narveer Tanaji Malusare Road (Sinhagad Road) has been closed. Also, traffic from Asha Chowk to Savarkar Chowk on this road is being closed.

Alternative route – Vehicles traveling from Swargate to Sinhagad Road should proceed from Savarkar Chowk, Saras Baug Chowk, Sanas Putla, Kalpana Hotel Chowk, NC Phadke Chowk, Senadatta Police Chowki, Balshivaji Chowk. To reach Swargate from Sinhagad Road, turn left from Asha Hotel Chowk and proceed from Bal Shivaji Chowk, Senadatta Police Chowky, NC Phadke Chowk, Kalpana Chowk.
