Pune, February 17, 2021: In the last few days, the number of corona patients in Pune has been increasing again. Violations of rules like maintaining social distancing, not wearing masks have led to an increase in patients in some areas, officials said.

Lockdown rules were relaxed after the number of corona patients decreased. When the first wave of corona occurred, the number of patients was higher in the suburbs of the central city.

If the coronavirus rules continue to be violated by the people of Pune, a new lockdown can be imposed by the state government.

Mayor Muralidhar Mohol has warned that containment zones would be declared in the areas with the highest number of patients in Pune.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar told reporters on Monday that it was “disappointing” that people in the state were violating the rules on the backdrop of the corona.

After talking to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, it is being considered whether to impose some strict restrictions in places where the number of corona patients is increasing. He also said that people should wear masks and follow social distancing.

 In the last 24 hours, a total of 262 people were discharged from hospitals after recovery from Coronavirus disease (COVID19) in Pune city today. Also, 428 new patients were detected while 4 people died today. Today swab samples of 4304 were collected for COVID tests.

According to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), the total number of Coronavirus positive patients till date has reached 195,924 out of which 189,237 have been cured while 4806 have died. There are still 1881 active patients undergoing treatment in various hospitals.
