Pune, 22nd July 2024: Today at Pune Airport, travelers faced significant disruptions with several flights delayed and one cancelled, leaving passengers stranded and frustrated. Among the affected flights was one bound for Lucknow, delayed by over 4 hours. SpiceJet’s flight SG 8184 also experienced a delay of nearly 5 hours, causing uncertainty and discomfort for its passengers. Additionally, a flight to Delhi was similarly delayed, compounding the chaos at the airport.

Air India Express exacerbated the situation by cancelling its scheduled flights to Bangalore and Delhi without prior notice. This sudden cancellation left passengers like Abhay Singh distressed, as it disrupted long-awaited family plans. “We were supposed to reach Lucknow by 7:30 PM, but our journey from Pune began at 9:30 PM. It has been a harrowing experience, especially with a young nephew,” lamented Abhay Singh.

Another traveler criticized Air India Express for the lack of proactive communication and support. “Offering complimentary meals and water doesn’t compensate for the time wasted. They should have informed us earlier and arranged better assistance,” remarked a frustrated passenger.

Prashant Kadam expressed dismay over SpiceJet’s handling of flight SG 8184, citing complete communication breakdown from the airline. “There has been no update whether the flight will depart or not. This lack of clarity is unacceptable,” said Kadam, calling for better accountability from aviation authorities.

As frustrations mount, passengers are questioning the lack of compensation policies for such delays and cancellations. They are urging DGCA India and airlines to establish clearer guidelines and support measures for affected travelers during such disruptions.
