CBSE class X results declared, Know about assessment, post result counselling

Pune, July 15, 2020: The Central Board of Secondary Education has declared the results of class X Board examination today. This year, the Board has recorded a pass percentage of 91.46.

Out of the 18,73,015 students who appeared for the examination this year, 17,13,121 have passed. Overall, girls have done better than the boys and transgender candidates, 93.31 percent girls have cleared the examination, while 90.41 percent of the boys and 78.95 percent of the transgender students have passed.

Assessment: The CBSE has replaced the term ‘FAIL’ by the term ‘Essential Repeat’, which will be mentioned in the documents issued to the candidates and the result hosted on the website.

As per the information given by the Board, for the students, who have completed all their examinations, their results will be declared based on their performance in the examinations. For students who have appeared in the examinations in more than three subjects, the average of the marks obtained in the best three performing subjects will be awarded in the subjects whose examinations have not been conducted. For those who have appeared in the examinations in only three subjects, the average of the marks obtained in the best two performing subjects will be awarded in the subjects whose examinations have not been conducted.

The CBSE Class X Board examinations were scheduled to be conducted from February 15 till March 20. However, due to widespread spread of the Coronavirus pandemic, the exams scheduled from March 19 to 31 had to be postponed. While the pending examinations were earlier going to be held between July 1 and 15, they were cancelled by the Board due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the country.

Post-result counselling:The post-result tele-counselling facility has been activated from July 13, and will continue till July 27 on Toll-Free Number 1800 11 8004. Students and parents can dial from any part of the country on all days from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm, or access pre-recorded useful tips.
