CBI Raids Five Cities Including Pune To Bust Illegal Fake Call Centers; Five Arrested
Pune, 30th September 2024: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has busted illegal fake call centers in various cities including Pune. Five suspects have been arrested in this regard. A racket running fake call centers has defrauded citizens of the US and other countries.
Rohit Banjara, Jitendra Rawal, Harsh Patel, Aditya Patel, and Vanraj Sahil have been arrested from Hyderabad. CBI has registered a case in this case. The accused were produced in a court in Pune. According to information received, the CBI conducted raids in Hyderabad, Varanasi, Visakhapatnam, and Ahmedabad cities along with Pune. CBI officials have seized 50 mobile phones, 38 computers, and documents from the said fake call centers.
The fake call centers were run under the names of MSVC Informatics Pvt Ltd, Atria Global Services Pvt Ltd, and Viages Solutions by the accused. It has come to light that the accused cheated foreign nationals online using remote access software. The accused cheated two foreign nationals of $20,000 by persuading them to buy international gift cards.
