Car Damaged As Boundary Wall Collapses Amidst Heavy Rain In Pune
Bibvewadi, 10th November 2023: Chaos ensued on Friday evening when the boundary wall of Sadguru Society, situated near a nullah close to Ram Mandir in Balaji Nagar, collapsed during an unexpectedly heavy downpour.
The incident resulted in a four-wheeler overturning and sustaining substantial damage, though fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Upon receiving a distress call, the fire brigade swiftly responded to the situation. A fire tender and dedicated firefighters were dispatched to assess and manage the aftermath of the wall collapse.
Fire officer Pradeep Khedekar provided details of the incident, stating, “At approximately 5:30 pm on Friday, the boundary wall between Sadguru Society in Bibvewadi, positioned at the base of a slope, and a nullah descending from Katraj, succumbed to the sudden and intense downpour. The wall crumbled into the nullah, dragging a parked four-wheeler into the water.”
The challenging circumstances forced the fire brigade to park their fire tender at a distance and proceed on foot due to the narrow pathway, rendering it impassable for the vehicle.
Khedekar explained that the soil beneath the wall disintegrated in the heavy shower, leading to the wall’s collapse. Fortunately, the parked car was unoccupied at the time, sparing any potential injuries.
