Canadian Singer Shubh’s Mumbai Concert Cancelled Over Controversial Map Post

Mumbai, 21st September 2023: Amid the ongoing dispute between India and Canada, a significant development has emerged. Canadian-Punjabi singer Shubh has faced repercussions for posting an incorrect map of India on social media. His scheduled program in Mumbai has been canceled, as confirmed by the online ticketing site BookMyShow. Canadian singer Shubneet Singh’s ‘Still Rollin’ tour to India has been officially canceled, according to a statement by the company.

BookMyShow has taken the initiative to provide a full refund of the ticket amount to all consumers who had purchased tickets for singer Shubneet Singh’s show. The company stated that customers can expect to receive their refunds within the next seven to ten days.

Earlier, the Boat company had withdrawn its sponsorship and support for Punjabi singer Shubneet Singh’s program in India. The company made a statement, saying, “Our commitment to the incredible music community runs deep, and we are first and foremost a true Indian brand. Therefore, upon learning about the comments made by artist Shubh earlier this year, we decided to withdraw our sponsorship from the tour.”

In Mumbai, members of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) removed posters advertising Canadian singer Shubh’s upcoming concert. Shubneet Singh, also known as Shub, is a Punjabi-Canadian rapper. He was scheduled to perform in Mumbai from September 23 to 25.

Former Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli has unfollowed Canada-based Punjabi singer Shubneet Singh on social media. Singer Shubneet is known to be a Khalistani supporter. His posting of a map related to Kashmir sparked significant opposition in the country.

Shubh is renowned for several hit songs, including her debut track ‘We Rollin’, released in 2021, which has garnered over 206 million views on YouTube. Subsequently, the songs ‘Cheques’ and ‘Elevated’ also gained widespread popularity. According to media reports, Shubh shared the controversial map of India when the Punjab Police was searching for a fugitive Khalistan supporter named Amritpal Singh.
