Call Me Bae Trailer Released: Ananya Panday Stars as South Delhi Girl in New Web Series

Pune, 20th August 2024: The trailer for Ananya Panday’s upcoming web series Call Me Bae has been officially released, generating excitement among fans. Directed by Colin D’cunha and produced by Karan Johar, the series is set to stream on Amazon Prime on September 6. Featuring a talented cast that includes Vir Das, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Mini Mathur, Gurfateh Pirzada, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra, and Muskaan Jafri, the show marks Ananya’s debut on OTT platforms after her film career.

The trailer introduces Ananya’s character, Bela Chaudhary, who identifies herself as “Bae.” Born into a wealthy family, Bela enjoys a glamorous lifestyle until a dramatic turn of events forces her to leave her luxurious life behind. She finds herself navigating the streets of Mumbai, where she must seek employment and adapt to public transportation while embracing the challenges of a journalist’s life.

In her reflections on this role, Ananya shared, “From the very beginning, I knew that Call Me Bae was a project I wanted to be a part of. Even before hearing the script, I knew it was going to be something special. Playing the character of Bae was very exciting for me.”

The eight-episode series is a production of Dharmaatic Entertainment and is expected to premiere in India and over 240 countries worldwide. The show is co-written by Ishita Moitra, Sameena Motlekar, and Rohit Nair and will be available in Hindi as well as Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
