Builder Duped of Rs 25 Lakh in Land Deal Scam, Case Registered at Ravet Police Station

Ravet, 25th June 2024: A builder has been swindled out of approximately Rs 25 lakh in a fraudulent land deal in Pimpri Chinchwad. A case has been registered against one individual in connection with the incident.

Namdev Shankar Pote, 75, a resident of Chinchwad, lodged a complaint at the Ravet Police Station. The complaint names Balasaheb Dattatraya Gawhare, 50, also from Chinchwad, as the accused. The case has been registered under IPC Section 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property).

According to police reports, Gawhare signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Pote to purchase 40 Guntha of land in Ravet and received Rs 25 lakh from him. However, Gawhare allegedly deceived Pote by failing to complete the land purchase as agreed.
