A trend which is a rage in India has now taken Pakistan by storm. With current Asia Cup in UAE the Pakistan team have taken on the #BreakTheBeard trend with Cricketers like Shoaib Malik, Mohammed Amir and Shadab Khan doing their own version of Break The Beard.

Pakistan’s most groomed player Shoaib Malik joined the bandwagon, when his wife put a request for him to shave off the stubble, “There are a ‘couple’ of us missing you here! Need a time machine @realshoaibmalik..real quick…! #fbf #nostalgia #beautifulface come back soon and maybe without the stubble…

Taking Sania Mirza’s request a little too seriously, Shoaib Malik surprised his wife and posted a video on Instagram shaving off the stubble doing a Break The Beard video captioned Begum jo bole woh right! This look is for you @mirzasaniar and a surprise at the end for the little one. #summerlook #breakthebeard #asiacup.”

The surprise move came when Lasith Malinga who has never shaved in the past 10 years unveiled the new look tagging his Mumbai Indian team mate Hardik Pandya. Lasith Malinga even inspired his captain Angelo Mathews and to revamp his beard style and go clean shaven.

This certainly looks like an off field #BreakTheBeard battle. The original Break The Beard boy Shikhar Dhawan unveiled his new look captioned, “Sahi farmaaya @virendersehwag bhai. Poori Koshish lagaa dengey Asia Cup ki jeet mein. Filhaal Asia Cup mein yeh mera solid punjabi tadka. Kyunki boundary toh sirf gabru break karega!!

#BreakTheBeard #knockthemout.”

Joining him was Yuzvendra Chahal, India’s spinning sensation who was seen sporting an anchor beard captioned, “#Breakthebeard is like a game of chess. You check what your mates are doing and then take them out. Breaking boundaries and looking good at the same time.  #newlook #AsiaCup2018 #Dubai.”

Commenting on the look change India’s top celebrity grooming expert Aalim Hakim says, “Currently, #BreakTheBeard is one of the biggest trends in men’s grooming space across India and I have had men come to my salon to try different styles and do away with the beard. Men think that it is only about clean-shaven look but ‘Break The Beard’ gives them a chance to have different styles which accentuates their facial structure in turn receive positive reaffirmation from people around. It is time they become confident of their faces and do away with the heavy beard which covers it.”

Going beyond borders with Pakistan and Sri Lankan Cricketers Break The Beard is the one Indian trend which is breaking boundaries this Asia Cup.
