BJP Youth Wing Leader Attacked with Koyta in Pune’s Lohiya Nagar; Case Filed Against Nine

Lohiya Nagar, 24th June 2024: An office bearer of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was attacked with a koyta in the Lohiya Nagar area of Pune. The victim is an activist in BJP’s Youth Wing, known as the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM). This incident occurred last night in Ekbote Colony.

Nagesh Dhaware filed a complaint at the Khadak Police Station. Akshay Datta Dhaware has been identified as the injured party in this attack. The Khadak Police have registered a case against nine people, including Atul Khan, Salman Shaikh, and others, under the charge of attempted murder.

According to police reports, the victim Dhaware serves as a BJYM vice president in the Kasba Peth Assembly. Yesterday, around 8 PM, he was sitting with his friends, drinking tea in a restaurant in Ekbote Colony on Shankar Sheth Road. At that time, the accused arrived on a two-wheeler. Abusing Dhaware based on his caste, the accused attacked him, saying, “He wants to be a messiah in Lohiya Nagar; today we kill him.” Dhaware was attacked with a koyta and other sharp weapons, according to his complaint.
