Bharat Bandh: Know About Its Effect In Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad And Maharashtra

Pune/New Delhi, December 7, 2020: The farmers’ organizations have announced a Bharat Bandh on Tuesday to demand the withdrawal of three new agricultural laws.

Indian Farmers Union spokesman Rakesh Tikait said that under the Bharat Bandh, there will be bandh from 11 am to 3 pm so that common people can go to the office and they do not face any problem. By 11 am most people reach the office and at 3 pm they start leaving.

So far this bandh of farmers has got the support of eight state governments. These include the governments of Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Kerala and Maharashtra. The Chief Minister of West Bengal has supported the farmers’ demands but has not supported the Bharat Bandh.

Meanwhile, farmer organizations have also made it clear that no political party leader will be given a place on the farmers’ platform during Bharat Bandh.

Farmers’ organizations said – people will not be disturbed

Common people will be able to go to their office as usual. They will not be disturbed on the way. There will be no interruptions in ambulances and wedding ceremonies. There will be no disturbance during the Bharat Bandh. Peaceful demonstrations will be held.

Maharashtra: Buses will not run on sensitive routes

The nationwide bandh of farmers has been supported by the three parties in the Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) ie Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP. Social activist Anna Hazare will go on a day-long fast in his village Ralegan Siddhi in support of farmers. In view of the bandh, it has been decided not to run State Transport (ST) buses on sensitive routes.

Medical stores and grocery shops will remain open in the state during the bandh. The Milk Producers’ Association has decided to stop supplying milk across the state. Apart from this, there will also be no supply of fruits and vegetables. All restaurants in the state will remain closed from 11 am to 3 pm. No decision has yet been taken regarding the malls in the state. Market committees in Nashik, Pune, Ahmednagar and Kolhapur will also be closed tomorrow.

These state governments did not support the Bharat Bandh

The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh said that if anyone tries to forcefully stop the markets and other services during the Bharat Bandh, legal action will be taken against it.

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said that strict action will be taken against the protesters if the common people face problems during the protest.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that TMC fully supports the farmers’ demands, but Bharat Bandh will not be supported.

5 round meeting failed, now talks will be held on 9 December

There has been a five-round meeting between the farmers and the central government on agricultural law. No result has been achieved in all of these till now. The farmers are demanding the abolition of the entire law, while the central government is asking farmers to amend these laws. Now the 6th round meeting is to be held again at 11 am on December 9 between the farmer leaders and the central government. Before this, a proposal will be made to the farmer leaders by the Central Government. Farmer leaders will discuss the proposal with the central government delegation.
