Pune, 19th January 2023: With an area of 516.18 sq km, Pune is now the largest city in Maharashtra geographically.

The erstwhile center of power and home of the Marathas, the birthplace of holy saints, and the Queen of Deccan is today one of the most prominent IT hubs in India and the fastest-growing city in the Asia-Pacific region. Pune is a thriving and vibrant metropolis with a glorious past, an innovative present, and a promising future that now has its own mass rapid transit system.

Pune Metro is a mass rapid transit system consisting of two corridors, with a total length of 33.2 km. Corridor 1 connects PCMC to Swaragte, and Corridor 2 runs from Vanaz to Ramwadi. A total of 12 km section is open to the public from PCMC to Phugewadi and Vanaz to Garware College, and very soon, the remaining sections will be open to the citizens of Pune.
