BCCI Awards Team India Rs 125 Crore for T20 World Cup Win

Mumbai, 30th June 2024: The Indian cricket team emerged victorious against South Africa in the final of the T20 World Cup 2024, securing a nail-biting 7-run win on Saturday. The match, held at Kensington Oval in Barbados (West Indies), saw India clinch the coveted title, ending a long drought of ICC trophies.

India, having won the toss, chose to bat first and set a competitive target of 176 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. In response, South Africa, led by Aiden Markram, managed to score 169 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their 20 overs.

Following this historic victory, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a generous reward for the team. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah stated, “I am pleased to announce prize money of INR 125 Crores for Team India for winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. The team has showcased exceptional talent, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. Congratulations to all the players, coaches, and support staff for this outstanding achievement!”
