Bajaj Auto To Launch World’s First CNG Bike Tomorrow In India

Pune, 4th July 2024: Bajaj Auto is set to launch the world’s first CNG bike in India tomorrow. The bike, featuring an engine expected to range from 100 to 125 cc, will be unveiled in the presence of Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari. Registrations for the bike began two days before the launch, and it is anticipated to be priced between INR 80,000 and INR 1,00,000 ex-showroom. This innovative bike will combine CNG and petrol, aiming to run up to 500 kilometers.

Spotted multiple times during testing, the Bajaj CNG bike has undergone rigorous trials to ensure its performance under various conditions. Despite the lack of official information, reports suggest that the bike will feature a CNG cylinder of 2 to 3 kg capacity along with a small petrol tank.

In terms of design, leaked blueprints reveal that the bike will have a double cradle frame with braces to secure the cylinder. The CNG cylinder will be positioned under the seat, with the nozzle for refilling at the front. Expected features include circular LED headlights, small side-view mirrors, a covered CNG tank, a long single seat, handguards, alloy wheels, front disc brakes, and a digital speedometer. The bike is likely to be available in multiple variants, and its name might be “Bruzer.”

Ajay Veer Yadav, General Secretary of the Government School Teachers’ Association, emphasized the significance of this launch, stating, “This marks a significant advancement in the two-wheeler segment, potentially transforming the market with its eco-friendly fuel option.”

As the launch approaches, Bajaj Auto remains tight-lipped about specific details, creating anticipation among potential buyers. The company has started registrations for the bike, and a few units may be offered at a special price. The exact specifications and features will be confirmed at the official launch event.
